Sean McDowell

Sean McDowell recently graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Art (Sculpture and Spatial Practice) from the Victorian College of the Arts. Recent solo exhibitions include Sean McDowell, Sunday Summer Series, Whaler Bar, The Repositioning of Objects that Once Functioned, George Paton Gallery, The Residue of Process, Enough Space and Geometric Study, Testing Grounds. McDowell has also been involved in various group exhibitions including Extended Gestures Extended, Five Walls Projects, the Annual Fundraiser Exhibition, Seventh Gallery, Group Conversations; Australia’s Shame, George Paton Gallery and Proud 2016, Margaret Lawrence Gallery. He has been shortlisted as a finalist for the Graeme Hildebrand Art Prize for Young Contemporary Artists, Mary and Lou Senini Student Art Award, Footscray Tertiary Art Prize and the 2018 Majilis Travelling Scholarship. In 2018, he was the recipient of the Perrin Sculpture Foundry Award. His work is held in private collections throughout Melbourne and Germany.
