Sundari Carmody is an artist currently based in Kaurna Yarta Adelaide. Her practice focuses on the language of sculpture and ideas that explore relationships between consciousness and the cosmos. She questions how we engage with universal systems and aspects of being that linger in the category of the unknown – in ‘the dark’. Ultimately, she attempts to find frameworks that give form to the invisible or things that lie beyond the limits of our perception. Carmody grew up in Indonesia before moving to Australia to study art, graduating with a Bachelor of Visual Arts (Honours) at the South Australian School of Art (2011). Her works have shown across Australia, including at TarraWarra Museum of Art, ACE Open, Outer Space, Firstdraft, Bus Projects and SEVENTH Gallery.
