Finding Edges negotiates the collapsible and often shifting relationship between the abstraction and representation of space and place.
Fiona Harman, Lily Kaiser and Jarrad Martyn come together to present a series of new works that question our experience of place and the troubling and often mediated channels through which we experience it.
Working within the hazy and the uncertain space between physical, socio-political and personal boundaries, Finding Edges draws out those places regularly frequented, searched out, happened upon and specifically travelled. Drawing on sources both clear and equivocal, the homogenised and uncanny present is then altered, distorted, and manipulated to be consolidated anew.
Finding Edges engages with place as a transient and indeterminate location which is fixed between where memory and the imagined reside.
