30 January 2017–30 January 2017

In 2017, KINGS Artist-Run relaunch FLASH NIGHT.

FLASH NIGHT is an experimental, temporary and site specific series that incorporates live performance, music, screenings and critical  commentary. These one-night-only happenings are an opening and closing in one; an exhibition; an event; a spectacle.

“How do we know it’s art? Because it takes so long to appreciate it could not be aimed at at a typical consumer. Because it is so annoyingly long it must be interesting.”

– Nato thompson

In the lead up to KINGS first 2017 FLASH NIGHT Kat Henry and Arie Rain Glorie will spend the day in the gallery devising some annoyingly long and slow performance, in attempt to prolong the present and circumnavigate the forces within contemporary life that demand we hurry up.

Consume time slower, be in the present, test your own endurance, experience doubt, hesitation, prolonged reflection and delay… all while drinking a beer.
