Applications Closed

The exhibition program is at the core of KINGS Artist-Run and each year we look to deliver a series of artistically exciting and discursively engaged projects; accompanied by talks, performances and written content.

The monthly exhibitions at KINGS are formed around proposed solo and group projects interspersed with thematic curatorial projects undertaken by KINGS Artist-Run committee. The program is developed through rigorous discussions of the received applications that are programmed alongside complimentary exhibitions to form engaging perspectives on contemporary artistic practice.
Notably, KINGS Artist-Run welcomes:

  • artists at all stages of their practice
  • solo exhibitions
  • large-scale curated projects
  • conceptually and technically ambitious projects
  • group exhibitions using one or more or all of the spaces within the gallery
  • interdisciplinary projects that include performances, workshops, relational events and engagements with public spaces

Successful applicants will be offered a three-week exhibition plus install time; media support including a listing in Art Guide, a listing on City of Melbourne ‘What’s On’; event distribution through Facebook, Instagram and KINGS monthly newsletter; printed vinyl signage in the gallery entrance; exhibition documentation by Chris Bowes (with the option of purchasing images at a subsidised rate); and installation support and equipment. Please contact us if you wish to clarify any aspects of our gallery programming, or if you would like to discuss challenging installs or ambitious projects with the committee prior to submission.
