Aaron Hoffman utilises sculpture, installation and video to explore psychological states of loss and restraint, and the absent body. He engages with materials including domestic objects, furniture, concrete, plaster and corporeal matter. Through casting and construction techniques he disrupts and hybridises characteristics of the original objects or sites. He intervenes in the function of the objects, challenging their fate in relation to open and closed systems, and redirecting their course to visually agitate the uncanny.
