Caoife Power

Caoife Power (b. 1993, Eire Ireland/ 1997, Eora Sydney, Australia) lives and works in Narrm, Melbourne.
Caoife is a process driven artist based within painting and poetry. Caoife is interested in the language of painting from a queer(ing) position and how it can speak to: affect theory, disabled embodiment, colour and wildness. Her embodied position drives her way of understanding ‘unruly’ subjectivity, unpacking how the impact of contemporary society can sit within the body and shift the way it moves through the world. Using abstraction, Caoife is not interested in resolution, but finding a point of reclamation and freedom that sits within a place of inexactness.
