Josephine Mead is visual artist and writer, interested in personal notions of support. She has exhibited widely throughout Australia and beyond, including exhibitions at c3 contemporary art space, Bus Projects, Craft Victoria, Blindside, Kings Artist-Run, Blue Oyster Space, Seventh Gallery, St Heliers Street Gallery, Stockroom, Tasarim Bakkali and Five Walls. In 2018 she undertook the Kings Emerging Writer’s Program; a Cultural Research Residency through the Arquetopia Foundation in Puebla, Mexico; the prestigious Macfarlane Fund Residency in Kyneton; was shortlisted for the John Fries Award; and was published by Art + Australia and un projects. She was awarded a Career Development Grant through the Australian Council for the Arts to undertake the Tasarim Bakkali TAB Residency program in Istanbul, Turkey and the Cortex Frontal Residency program in Arraiolos, Portugal in 2019.
