Kaitlyn Hickey is an artist living and working in Melbourne. Her practice is concerned with an ongoing personal archive, fluid in both structure and outcome. She is interested in how textile matter functions as a document of time, movement and learning. Her work also investigates sewing and installation as private performative acts, and how much of these performances trickle over into being public. Her practice looks at the way textile knowledge is often acquired and translated through making and generational gesture.
