Sophie Morrow is a multidisciplinary artist whose work investigates language, body and voice, creating intimate and unsettling moments of contemplation. Their practice is influenced by poetry, psychology, art therapy, bodies, ritual, occult practices, queer theory and ecofeminism. Their work seeks to contribute to contemporary queer and feminist discourse through consideration of power structures, connection and futurity.
‘From The Throat (between teeth and tongue’ is the outcome of their recently completed Master’s research at VCA, Naarm. Morrow has exhibited both locally and internationally, and participated in artist -in- residence programs in Germany and Finland. They live and work in Naarm, on unceded Wurundjeri land.
