Jordanna Bragg
Laura Duffy

06 April 2019–27 April 2019

“Architectural Blue Under Construction (Loves Castle is Infinitely Better) or A.B.U.C for short by Jordanna Bragg, is a montage of video with text overlay exposing the gaps that occur in action, image (representation) and language, while negotiating the boundaries between devotion and addiction.”

Be well in order by Laura Duffy is constructed from images taken during open heart surgery. This moving image work explores a disjoint between language and bodily experience.

  • Jordana Bragg is a multi-disciplinary artist currently based in Melbourne Australia, undertaking a MFA through Monash University. Bragg's practice spans writing, live performance, still and moving image. Concentrating on the metaphysics of love and loss, their practice discloses a characteristically dangerous personal and universal sense of vulnerability, informed by wider research concerning issues of identity and gender fluidity.
  • Laura Duffy is a digital and video artist based in Pōneke, Aotearoa. Duffy's research practise considers intersections of queerness, abjection, technology and desire. Duffy often attempts to expose and alter binary categorizations, her work often plays with divinity, blurring the lines between repulsion and desire. Laura Duffy is currently a facilitator at artist-run initiative MEANWHILE.
