BLACK_BOX: What is broken with your Autonomous-Clock?

01 June 2019–22 June 2019

What is broken with your Autonomous-Clock? The title of this exhibition is inspired by a term coined by Kazuki Yamanta. According to Yamanta, the Self-Clock is a concept that represents an autonomous time based on the personal attributes of each individual – depicting a lifestyle that is not constrained by conventional concepts of time. Yamanta and Nagao share their resistance and questions to various grids, such as the time and classification that society unilaterally and unconsciously exists within.

In addition, this exhibition examines the theme of personal history as ready-made = various feelings as ready-made, which has been a focus for both artists in recent years.
