Zoe Knight’s practice focuses on an intimate and tactile engagement with found and repurposed materials. Influenced by Robert Morris, Eva Hesse and Mikala Dwyer, Knight explores the tactile relationship between material, process and installation — object, exhibition space and spectator. In TREAD miniature objects are placed directly on the ground or on top of small pedestals in order to emphasise the lateral spread of the floor. As a result, viewers are initially disorientated but then invited to engage with each object at an intimate distance.
