“Photography has no reality, it is almost one hundred percent a picture”
Gerhard Richter, 1991
Untitled Spaces comprises a series of framed wall-sized colour analogue c type photographic prints. Applying a mix of conventional and non-conventional darkroom processes, using film in conjunction with painterly interventions, camera-less abstract images are handprinted. Images residing between existence and the abyss suggest a human presence which permeates the composition. Untitled Spaces is a contemplation of The Image, employing abstraction to scrutinise the function of photographic representation.
