Tal Fitzpatrick is an Israeli born, Melbourne based artist, craftivist, feminist, researcher
and community development worker. Fascinated by the potential of craft to solicit the
sharing of stories, Tal’s works explores art’s ability to drive social change by engaging
people in complex conversations and creating temporary communities. Tal takes a
socially-engaged approach to making her textile works which combines the techniques
of appliqué quilting and embroidery with social media and participatory art making. Tal
graduated from Griffith University in 2009 with a Bachelor of Arts with first class honours
