Juan Rodríguez Sandoval

Juan Rodríguez Sandoval is a Guatemalan-born, Latin-Australian interdisciplinary environmental artist based in Gippsland, Victoria, on Brayakaulung Country. His work intertwines Latin heritage with ecological consciousness, addressing themes of displacement, borders, and human movement. Utilising natural, recycled, and culturally significant materials, he creates installations and sculptures that reflect on environmental sovereignty and cultural history. Rodríguez Sandoval’s practice emphasises collaboration with Indigenous Elders, ensuring cultural traditions are honoured. His art has been showcased internationally, including exhibitions at Trocadero Projects and Incinerator Gallery, and public commissions such as Barriletes de Nuestro Futuro at Latrobe Regional Gallery.
