sorry, I’m all out of spoons

Juliette Berkeley
Ronen Jafari

30 January 2025–23 February 2025

Ronen Jafari and Juliette Berkeley are opening a restaurant at KINGS. Food is always free, please come and break bread. Service will be on Sundays from around 2ish given we’re not too hungover… will run until we run out (of food or steam)

Picture a space where comfort and exhaustion mingle into one horrible yet delicious meal (I’m talking like hash browns on toast type $#!t). It can kinda be anywhere from greasy napkins to stemless wine glasses to kind-of-mouldy Tupperware containers (don’t expect anything fancy…)

BYO spoons, we don’t and won’t have any.

See the exhibition room sheet here.

This exhibition is supported by the City of Melbourne Connected Neighbourhood Small Grants 2024–25.

  • Juliette Berkeley does not like to cook, but she is a serviceable sous-chef to her friends. Recently, she has been discussing with her housemate whether or not to buy a rice-cooker. If you have an old one lying around, let her know.
  • Ronen Jafari AKA Mynamechef (Mynamechef069 on fortnite) likes to cook with his friends. His practice is socially informed (still learning) and homie-driven. Currently he’s been developing his culinary skills and exploring the social, political and individual power of food (recent works feature twin towers of fairy bread standing 9 – 11 inches tall respectively).
