Volatile Relations

Lani Knezevic

04 July 2024–04 August 2024

Volatile Relations is developed from Knezevic’s 2023 text work, I am young so I don’t think about my death (that much). Borrowing the already confessional narrative, the work is further personalised through spoken word. Diaristic but unmonumental clips from everyday life play picture in picture with pop culture references, from Spider-Man to True Blood. The artist recalls childhood memories as fragmented anecdotes in an attempt to come to terms with mortality. Despite the heaviness, the work is instantaneously and unequivocally a love letter to parents and life itself.
