Jingxuan Chen
Jingxuan Chen is a multidisciplinary artist based in Melbourne. The timely response to the dual experience of growing up in China and living in Australia presented in her work is that she simultaneously utilizes images that are culturally close and remote from the Australian experience and allows this oddity to be placed on the same level. Jingxuan’s works reflect the changing social landscape of the new generation of Chinese youth, the normalization of numbness, despair, anger, and emptiness that exist simultaneously without awareness, an ideological void of hate. In 2022, Jingxuan completed her Bachelor of Fine Arts at the Victorian College of Arts.
