Lino Brocka

Lino Brocka (1939-1991) is widely regarded as a master of Filipino realist cinema. His films confront the lasting effects of American imperialism on the Filipino economy and psyche, laying bare the entangled politics of race, class, gender, and capital. His other famous works include Manila in the Claws of Light, Insiang, and Orapronobis among over 40 other film works.
